What Would Your Mother Say? 2007
“What Would Your Mother Say?” was realized as a video installation. Two DVD screens nestled within hand-knitted children’s sweaters, creating the torsos of absent yet ever present children. Posed on two child sized chairs in mid-conversation, these sweaters contained the remnants of two childhood memories. Through the constellation of all these interdependent elements, I tried to reflect my complex relationship to both screen memory as a narrative tool and to contribute to the discourse surrounding the concept of “screen” in contemporary art.
